Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, a licensed card game set in Night City, is playable at SPIEL Essen 2026. Visitors can join learn-to-play demos in Hall 5, booth 5G700, through Sunday, October 25, and the booth also hands out an event promo card and sells sealed products.
The game is produced by Weird Co. under license from CD Projekt Red, the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077. Players put together a crew of characters from across the Cyberpunk franchise, and the official card database already lists familiar names like V, Johnny Silverhand, Jackie Welles, and Adam Smasher.
Matches revolve around Gigs, jobs for the crew that are represented by dice. At the start of each turn, players roll a new Gig die and add it to their pile. Their crew members can then attack to steal Gigs from the opponent, and whoever starts a turn holding seven Gig dice wins. Each deck is led by three Legends, notorious Night City characters who start face down and get flipped at random during the match. The gameplay guide covers the rest.

The SPIEL promo is Rebecca: Having a Moment, a Legend card of Rebecca from the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Weird Co. has not said how many copies it brought to Essen or what the sealed products at the booth cost.
Players who can't make the trip can still try the game at home. The official site offers two print-and-play demo decks, one built around Arasaka and one around mercenaries. For Cyberpunk 2077 fans, that's the cheapest way to find out whether Night City is fun to play or not.
What comes after Essen
The first set, Welcome to Night City, gets its pre-release events from October 30 to November 1. Local game stores host sealed-deck tournaments where players build a deck from a pre-release kit, and Weird Co. says the events suit players of every experience level. The store locator helps find one nearby.
Weird Co. also heads to more European conventions after Essen, including Lucca Comics & Games in Italy from October 28 to November 1 and Spellenspektakel / CardCon in Utrecht on November 7 and 8. Both offer demos and a different promo card, Misty. The event calendar lists every stop.
The next set is already announced. Edgerunners: Burn Bright brings characters, weapons, and cyberware from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners to hobby stores in spring 2027, with pre-release tournaments one week before the full release.
