Rockstar Games has announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, a new video about the game that premieres on Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET. Players without a subscription can watch it later that evening on YouTube.
Netflix subscribers get to watch first, and Netflix describes the deal as a first of its kind. Everyone else can watch six hours later: Rockstar says the video goes live on its official YouTube channel and on the Grand Theft Auto VI website at 9 p.m. ET on August 27. In Central Europe, the Netflix premiere is at 9 p.m. local time and the YouTube release follows at 3 a.m. on August 28.
Neither Rockstar nor Netflix has said what the video contains or how long it runs. Netflix's description says only that subscribers get to see more about the game. Rockstar has released two trailers so far, in December 2023 and May 2025, and neither showed gameplay. I hope this one does, but nothing in the announcement promises it.
GTA 6 is scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and pre-orders have been open since June.
