Cat Mail Co. has been out on Steam since July 9, 2026. You run a post office on an island of cats, there is a free demo, and the full game costs $14.99 (14.99€).
What the job looks like
You arrive on Cat's Island after the old postman has vanished and left parcels piled up to the ceiling. Mail comes in on the daily boat. You sort it, weigh it, label it and stamp it, then load outgoing parcels back onto the boat. Send a parcel to the wrong destination and it can come back damaged.
The best thing about it is that there are no timers and no penalties, so you can take as long as you like without anyone rushing you. At night, moonlight reveals the strange properties of some parcels and how to handle them. It adds a touch of magic to the routine. The backlog is also the story of the post office, waiting to be uncovered as you sort. New destinations and tools unlock as the place gets back on its feet. You can play alone or with up to four players in co-op, which makes it a great game to share with friends.
Try the demo first
A free demo is on Steam, and according to the developers your progress carries over to the full game. The demo added co-op for up to four players during Steam Next Fest in June. The launch discount has ended.
How it holds up
I have played it myself and liked it a lot. It is a game for winding down, but it can get chaotic too, especially when you play co-op with other people.
Many Steam players agree. Steam rates the recent reviews Very Positive, with 92% of the 863 reviews from the last 30 days positive. The positive ones mention the atmosphere, the cute graphics and the simple mechanics, and one co-op player calls it a good way to unwind together. The developers put the game at eight to ten hours, with an endless mode afterwards. If that sounds like fun, the demo is the easy way to find out.
What comes next
On Steam, the studio has not announced new content or a roadmap. Since launch it has mostly shipped bug fixes and convenience features. The August 14 update added controller support, remappable inputs, a zoom to see parcels better, a save after every served customer and an official macOS version. According to Steam Deck HQ, controller support also helped the game earn the Steam Deck Verified badge.
The latest patch, from October 1, removes the internet requirement for single-player and fixes bugs including an infinite loading screen. The same note says the macOS version will be updated at a later date, citing unforeseen circumstances. No date has been given.
