Star Wars: Galactic Racer Is Out, and Prime Members Can Play the Campaign on Luna

·

Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched on October 6, 2026, and Amazon Prime members can play its single-player campaign at no extra cost. Amazon added the game to its cloud gaming service Luna on the same day it came out on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

How the Prime offer works

Amazon renamed Prime Gaming to Luna last year. It runs games on Amazon's servers and streams them to the player's screen, so there's nothing to install. Amazon's gaming boss Jeff Gattis said it's the first time Luna has had a game ready on launch day.

The game is playable in every country where Luna is included with Amazon Prime. That includes the US, the UK, Canada and several European countries, among them Germany, Austria, France and Spain. Luna works in the browser and on Fire TV, select Samsung and LG smart TVs, Android, iOS, PC, Mac and Chromebook.

Amazon's announcement only promises the single-player campaign, and only as a stream. Prime members don't get a copy of the game to download or keep, and access ends when the Prime membership does. Amazon also hasn't said how long the game will be available in Luna for Prime members.

It's also unclear whether online multiplayer, the short Arcade challenges or the longer Scenario events are part of the Luna version. Anyone who wants the full game can buy it for $59.99 on Steam, which lists online PvP and cross-platform multiplayer.

For players who aren't sure the game is for them, Luna is an easy way to try it before paying full price.

A racer built around runs

Galactic Racer comes from Fuse Games, a studio founded by racing veterans who worked on Burnout and Need for Speed. The game is set shortly after the Empire's fall, in the lawless Outer Rim, where an underground racing league called the Galactic League has formed. Players take the role of Shade, a lone racer out for glory and revenge.

The campaign is split into runs. Between races, players choose their route, events and upgrades, so each run can turn out differently.

Besides the campaign, Galactic Racer has online races against other players, including cross-platform play. On PS5, up to 12 players can race online, and that requires PS Plus.

Players race landspeeders, speeder bikes, the new skim speeders and podracers. Podracers only compete against each other, since they're far faster than the rest.

Early reactions are positive. Steam user reviews sit at Very Positive, and the store page quotes high scores from GameSpot and Eurogamer.
